CSO Procurement Information

CSO's procurement policy is determined by best Public Sector practice as detailed in the Department of Finance Public Procurement Guidelines. This document sets out the requirements for meeting all National guidelines and EU directives regarding procurement procedures. The CSO commits itself to being compliant with these requirements.

Competitive tendering or other forms of open competition will be the normal practice except in exceptional circumstances. These circumstances are outlined in the Public Procurement Guidelines document.
The procurement procedures adopted by the CSO will therefore be underpinned by the following principals:-

  • Carrying out open, transparent and fair competitive procurement processes
  • Ensuring that CSO achieves beft Value for Money
  • Minimising risk to the CSO during the procurement process and subsequent delivery of goods or services
  • Ensuring equality of access to qualified suppliers/contractors
  • Ensuring that all suppliers/contractors are made aware of and agree to the CSO's standard terms and conditions of contract
  • Contractors/Suppliers must comply with all relevant government regulations including Tax Clearance requirements, Health and Safety and Employment legislation and regulations.
